Spanish Affirmative Imperative: Conjugation Trainer
The affirmative imperative is used to give orders, commands and instructions directly.
- Orders: ¡Cierra la puerta! (Close the door!)
- Commands: ¡Ven aquí! (Come here!)
- Instructions: Tomad asiento (Take a seat)
Affirmative imperative forms
Five forms: tú, vosotros, nosotros, usted and ustedes.
General rule
- tú: same as 3rd person present (habla, come, vive)
- vosotros: infinitive minus -r + -d (hablad, comed, vivid)
- nosotros: 1st person present subjunctive (hablemos, comamos, vivamos)
- usted: 3rd person present subjunctive (hable, coma, viva)
- ustedes: 3rd person plural subjunctive (hablen, coman, vivan)
Irregular verbs in tú
Eight verbs have special tú forms:
